Psalm 91:4 HE shall cover you with HIS pinions and under HIS wings you shall trust and find refuge…

Good News for the Oppressed

on January 31, 2011

As I was reading in Isaiah 61 The Lord began speaking to my heart:
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.  He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.

Have you been made righteous in Christ Jesus?  Then you have been anointed and qualified you to bring the good news of the gospel of the kingdom to those whose spirits are broken, to proclaim with authority freedom to those held captive to fear.  By the word and in the name of Jesus you have been given keys to release the oppressed from darkness.  To open up the eyes of the physically and spiritually sick.  Speak it forth in word, and in deed take their hands.  Strengthen feeble knees.  Declare His love.

He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

Tell those afflicted that their pain and confusion is not meant to destroy them.  What the enemy means to harm them God means to use for their benefit and the benefit of others.  Their pain will be  redeemed and their tears turned to laughter. Be the lifter of arms and turn despair to praise.  Be the blessing, offering more than just words.  As the process of salvation comes to them they will become strong in Him. He will be glorified in it as they to turn and help set free another.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations. Foreigners will be your servants. They will feed your flock and plow your fields and tend your vineyards. You will be called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God. You will feed on the treasures of the nations and boast in their riches.

Family curses shall be destroyed and families once broken and dysfunctional will once again have abundant life.  The generations after you will remember your name and rejoice.  You are and will be a minister unto the Lord and unto others. People you don’t even know will now serve you.  You will be lenders and not borrowers.  You will need to hire others to help manage the abundance you will have to share.  The wealth of the wicked is being released to you for your faithfulness.

Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. “For I, the Lord, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be recognized and honored among the nations. Everyone will realize that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”

God hates that your were robbed of your childhood.  He knows it was violently snatched away and in justice and violence He will restore to you the broken places.  Though your innocence was taken not all is lost. He has heard your groanings.  A double portion of joy for the years the enemy tormented you.  You are comforted to be a comfort and in doing so you have a hand in justice being brought forth in the lives of others.  Your reward is eternal. Your children and your children’s children blessed as you abide in His love.   Everyone will see and be astounded at what the Lord has done.

I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.

You are His inheritance, His love, His bride.  Clothed in beauty and arraigned in righteousness.  All of your days are in Him and His desire is for you.

The Sovereign Lord will show his justice to the nations of the world. Everyone will praise him! His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring, with plants springing up everywhere.

Justice will be shown as in all you touch will bring growth to the kingdom.  Many spiritual children will be raised up just as the flowers bloom.

Nations will declare the glory of the Lord and the power of His word spoken over you is self fulfilling.
