Fake Mustaches / What is it all about?

Over the years I have learned to pay close attention to odd or uncommon things happening in society.  Happenings in the natural like new trends being set, old ones arising, specific words or numbers reoccurring, are all often indicators of something taking place in the spiritual realm.  A prophetic symbolism of something God is trying to speak to us.  I would like to speak to something I believe the Lord is saying during this time and season.

A few years ago I had a dream.  In this dream someone was standing in my yard with their back turned toward me and was telling other people I knew that my water pump was broken and it needed fixing.  It was one of the ones that were used in the old days in which you would pump a large handle and the water would run out. There were three men also standing in my yard, two named Tim and the other named John. The person was laughing as they began telling the others how it needed to be fixed and that I could not do it my self.  I said to them, “what are you doing?  My water pump is not broken.”  The person, who was female, turned around and had a sort of diabolical laugh and being very sarcastic toward me saying, “You just dont know its broken.”  She was wearing a fake mustache.  Then another person appeared dressed in a handyman’s uniform approached me.  He had a kind smile and was very gentle.  He told me not to worry that my water pump wasn’t broken and that the woman with the fake mustache acting as an imposter and for me to keep doing as I had been doing.  The water pump actually represented me and the water from the pump was representation of the Holy Spirit inside of me coming forth.

Upon waking up from this dream I inquired of the Lord.  He revealed to me that this was a spirit operating from the woman that was there to thwart the call of God on my life. Remember we wrestle not with flesh and blood but principalities and powers.

Getting back to things happening in the natural at this time,  it seems that many  are wearing fake mustaches.  Dressing up in them, playing games, drawing them on etc. A fake mustache or false mustache is an item of prosthetic make-up used in dressing-up, acting, espionage and crime. The most notable fake mustache of all-time was probably worn by Charlie Chaplin for his role as The Tramp.  Upon doing a search, I also noticed that many folks are asking what it is all about.  Fellow bloggers are placing their spin on the idea, but most are asking whats the point???

im·pos·tor or im poster: a person who practices deception under an assumed character, identity, or name.  related words – fake, faker, fraud, impostor, pretender.

Several weeks ago the Lord led me to begin seeking Him concerning these things as the fascination in people wearing these fake mustaches has been increasing.  Not that the people playing this innocently are imposters, but again that it is something trending and I do believe there is a great spiritual annotation to it all.  I found it interesting also as I was again reviewing my dream the names of the men who were trying to fix the pump were John and Tim because in the bible in 2nd Timothy and in 2nd John were are told about imposters. Lets take a look.

2 John 1:6-8  Amplified Bible (AMP)

And what this love consists in is this: that we live and walk in accordance with and guided by His commandments (His orders, ordinances, precepts, teaching). This is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you continue to walk in love [guided by it and following it].

For many imposters (seducers, deceivers, and false leaders) have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge (confess, admit) the coming of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) in bodily form. Such a one is the imposter (the seducer, the deceiver, the false leader, the antagonist of Christ) and the antichrist.

Look to yourselves (take care) that you may not lose (throw away or destroy) all that we and you have labored for, but that you may [persevere until you] win and receive back a perfect reward [in full].

2 Timothy 3:12-14  Amplified Bible (AMP)

12 Indeed all who delight in piety and are determined to live a devoted and godly life in Christ Jesus will meet with persecution [will be made to suffer because of their religious stand].

13 But wicked men and imposters will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and leading astray others and being deceived and led astray themselves.

14 But as for you, continue to hold to the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced, knowing from whom you learned [them]…

If you notice in both these passages we are given the warning to hold tight to and stand on those things we know about Christ, his commands and to walk in love according to His commands that we might not be led astray by these wicked men and deceivers (imposters).

I believe that the reason we are seeing so many in this season participating in this dressing up in fake mustaches, or as “imposters” is because in the spirit realm the spirit of deception has been heightened and many wicked men (being used by this spirit) are coming forth like never before.  Also watch out for women and even children with a false word as many of those wearing the fake mustaches are women and children.  God is using women and children in this season like never before and so it goes with the enemy. After-all, He is the great imposter.  Satan has been defeated and is bound.  He can only use deception through principalities and powers and rulers of darkness. Cast down all imaginations that exalt against God. It might be something or someone coming as light, and dressed as truth and light, but it will be be “slightly off.”

“As to you, sir, treacherous to private friendship (for so you have been to me, and that in the day of danger) and a hypocrite in public life, the world will be puzzled to decide whether you are an apostate or an imposter, whether you have abandoned good principles or whether you ever had any.” -Thomas Paine

BE NOT DECEIVED! Continue to walk in love and follow Christ’s commands.  Look unto Jesus alone. Don’t just believe what is being spoken or sounds good, but be as the Bereans and search out the scriptures for yourself. Know the signs of the times. Rely on the Spirit of Truth.

John 16:13 Amplified Bible (AMP)

13 But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].
